MJEK seafood and Grill in Soutd China

We usually have had good experiences here, but the last time we were overcharged on the card and the wait was about 45 minutes. Not much of a number system or call your name over an intercom sorta thing. Good food but you can get the same elsewhere, faster, unfortunately!

Had a large chicken basket, lots of food and so so good, Great price. . Nice place to eat. Will be coming back for more. Great lobster rolls. Air conditioning inside too.

I arrived with my family of 5, 5 minutes before the kitchen closed for the evening... They were awesome! Polite, friendly, and the food was awesome! Good sized portions too

I have been looking for a local place that does fried clams and all I have been able to find are clam strips...I love the bellies 😍. I called MJEK and they had fried clams belly and all. YES!!! I got there and was surprised to find that it wasn't just a seafood place, they do everything...pizza, burgers, chicken baskets, and much much more. They are now one of my new favorite places.

Slow service, high prices, and poor quality food accompanied by baying dogs and lawn mowing near the dining area. The double cheeseburger basket included a tiny bun with hamburger patties so old that they crumbled, cheese was the cheap white stuff, and the slaw was the unappetizing generic stuff. A five piece wing order turned out to be 5 wing sections, and they tasted fine, but $5.49 felt like a ripoff as they were served without sauce or celery. Tipping did not insure faster or more accurate service. Don't do it. Just keep driving.

I stopped by the other day and had a perfect lobster roll, a plate of poutine, and a root beer. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Clam roll was quit fine. The haddock basket was delicious.. we will definitely go back and recommend to others

I live nearby so I've only been for takeout. Great fried fish & seafood. Fresh and hot, breaded by hand. Pay the extra for the clam bellies, it's worth it. I'm not a big lobster fan (it's not all it's cracked up to be) so I can't comment on their lobster but I see lots of people ordering it. The cole slaw is good and the fries are yummy. Traditional Maine seafood in a casual and relaxed roadside setting with some seating indoors too. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

This is a roadside restaurant that is unassuming but it has the best lobster that you will find. Was the best I have eaten and by far better than the ones I had in bar harbor. Much cheaper too. You have to make a stop here to Majek in China, Maine. Spoke to the chef and had to tell him how great a cook he was! Sorry I didn't get his name. Will be back next time up to bar harbor

This place was is great. As a relative newly to Maine, I did my part to make sure I tried to eat every lobster roll I could find. Luck would have it that it is only three miles from Sugar Maple Cottage so I get to have them whenever I am there.The seafood and chicken out outstanding, and trust me, you want the corn on the cob.They also sell fresh seafood there to take home here as well.Go, you will be happy

The best lobster rolls I've ever had. We also have ordered whole steamed lobsters from them and they're also awesome. Reasonable prices, clean restaurant, friendly staff, and great food - what she more could you want?

Besides boiled lobster, everything else is over priced. $15 for a tiny lobster roll that's TD garden price. Plus, all the seafood only served as deep fried and no table service. Taste was ok, but flies are everywhere inside and outside, not enjoyable.

Thee food was very good, especially the fried haddock and chicken. However, we are in the midst of a pandemic, and while my entire group of 9 people all had masks on when we arrived and while we waited for our food, the owner or manager decided to wait until everyone had removed their masks to eat, and then came over to stand a foot away from us and thank us for being so paMx

It's good if open but they are closed till mid March , might be nice to have that on Their hours

Sad. Quality has dropped significantly since my last visit, about a year ago. Fried seafood was greasy, clams were ridiculously chewy, fish chowder was desperately lacking salt and even the larger portion was modest,in terms of how much seafood received. I think they're way overpriced. I won't be going back.

I had the chicken tenders. They were overcooked and a little dry. The fries were okay. Everything was just ok. Nothing special, nothing horrible.

Usually a good meal, getting up on the pricey range for snack food.

Best fresh haddock around!

Both my husband and I grew up in Maine seaside towns so we are used to awesome fresh seafood. Now that we live in Central Maine this is our favorite place to get seafood. We love the crab rolls, lobster rolls, steamed clams, and fried haddock the most.

STOP! I know it looks like typical hot dog and burger place with fish. It’s not. The haddock basket is out of control delicious. Very good find. Oh and homemade Whoopie Pies

Wow! The food is so good and good quality, so fresh tasting and you get a very good amount of it for the price! Stopped in there for the first time today with my Husband and kids and can't believe we haven't been eating there all along! We will be back again shortly and again and again!

Good selection. Huge portions. The fisherman's platter is exceptional.

Fast friendly people and the meals are perfect

Very tasty! Great selection of food and the ambiance is fitting for a tucked away gem. If you blink you will pass it but I don't suggest you do so. Stop! Get some lobster, get some fried mushrooms. Grab a soda and hang out.

Amazing food and a great price. This spot is not as well known as all those others ones along the coast, but the food here is just as good if not better! If you are passing through this area, definitely stop by. Actually, even if you aren't passing through, this is place is worth the trip.

Simply the best lobster roll in Maine

Great seafood, seems very fresh. Always has friendly staff. Usually has very generous portions, unfortunately last night our haddock baskets were a little skimpy. It was however delicious and won't keep me from going back again. Also seems to have reasonable prices for fresh seafood if you want to do the cooking yourself!

First time trying their pizza tonight. One plain, one pepperoni for China boys baseball. They loved it. All the right things. Lots of cheese, crispy crust and tasty sauce. Well done.

The lobster roll was fantastic. Large chunks of meat, with your choice of butter or Mayo. The fried chicken sandwich was also delicious. The poutine was sub par. Advertised to have cheese curds, but none. It was melted cheese instead. The gravy also tasted like it came from a package. I'd go back for a lobster roll.

This was our 1st seafood experience in the area and it was amazing! Delicious haddock and clam baskets! We will definitely be back!

This place is perfect!!! Don't let the exterior fool you... the inside is fully renovated, clean bathrooms, very nice. The price can't be beat, no need to go anywhere else. They have it ALL. Make sure you get a home made Whoopie Pie :)

Great lobster rolls...don't be shaken by the word 'small'...it is piled high with meat!

Our plans were to stop at the first place we came to in Maine for a lobster roll. An unfortunate wrong turn out us here and what a serendipitous mistake. Lobster rolls we're brimming with sweet, succulent morsels of lobster. Service was slow, but worth every second of wait. Loved it.
